September 23rd: First full day of autumn. A beautiful walk through Mill Creek Ravine and the river valley. Bridge building detours around Epcor, so I walked down Saskatchewan Drive to get into Mill Creek. Too bad the sky wasn’t its usual blue, blue, blue, but the foliage was spectacular, nonetheless, and the day was warm. I think I missed peak colour (at least in the river valley), by a couple of days. The wind the previous day didn’t help. Street level, the trees are still a mix of green and yellow. Some red. 25C/1:00 to 2:30
September 22nd: An evening walk around Big Lake in St Albert. Just gorgeous, but way fewer birds than the last time we walked along the wetlands. Assorted duckery and and a muscrat. That is all.
